Join us in calling Congress

The NAACP continues to push ahead for comprehensive, high quality health care access for all Americans, even as nay-sayers push to prevent it from happening this year. But we are going to need your help.

Health care reform is not only possible this year, it is crucial. Health care is both a civil right and a human right. Unless we pass a strong health care reform bill, the color of your skin, your ethnic background, and where you live will continue to influence your access to health care, as well as the quality and cost of your care. These are facts that cannot be simply "tabled" for political expediency.

For these reasons, the NAACP is participating in a National Call-in Day tomorrow, TUESDAY, January 26. Here is what we need you to do:

HOW TO CALL:
Call 1-866-783-2462 to be connected to your Members of Congress.

SCRIPT:
Tell him or her to finish the job and deliver a health reform bill that meets the needs of America's families. We need a bill that mirrors the language passed by the House of Representatives, providing for quality, affordable care, in reach of low and middle-income families, and accountability for insurance companies, with strong regulations and consumer protections, and the competition provided by a public option.

We appreciate your support of the NAACP and joining us in the fight for real health care reform for all Americans.

Sincerely,

Benjamin Todd Jealous
